The story goes, possibly apocryphally, that Tony Bennett, responding to an interviewer’s shocked surprise that he would suffer from “butterflies” prior to a performance, stated: “It’s not because I’m afraid…it’s because I care.”

Keep it LOUD!!!

loud is good!
Beautiful writing Allen. Read the whole thing late (for me) after work on Friday night. Keep wishing you guys would play Salt Lake City, Utah but alas. I too am pleased that bass is never pluralized. I still remember the night in SF you shepherded Keir and I through many summers ago. And heard about your climb to the top of the bridge then before I injured my calf on a children’s merry-go-round/carousel. So glad to see that rocknroll has provided you with such a sweet spot this year. For me, I just played accordion with my daughter on the piano today to some pleasure, but sold my bass long ago to a friend who plays it much better. Now that I think of it, you helped me buy it when I was 20? Wow.
If you ever visit SLC, call on us.
